Various Video Projects that I have Directed, Shot and Edited over the years.

Dia De Los Muertos 2009

This is a promotional video I shot and edited for the 2009 Dia de los Muertos at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I shot it with a Canon 7D using a custom handheld rig I built for it. This video was shown at the entrance of the 2010 Dia de los Muertos at Hollywood Forever. The song is Esceletos by the band Tarantellos and is used with permission.

Current TV – Wachovia VCAM

In 2008, during the early days of user generated video content, there was a 24 hour cable TV channel called Current TV which ran a mix of produced content and user created segments. They ran a few competitions called VCAMs (Viewer Created Ad Messages), where a sponsor would put up a pool of prize money and issue a creative brief for a :30 or :60 TV spot, and the top 3 winners would have their spot run during commercial breaks on Current TV for a month. I wrote, directed and edited this spot along with my friend and business partner Casey Immoor who produced and wrote the music. We were chosen as one of the winners and our spot ran on air.

The Savages – UCLA Extension Exercise

This is a Directing and Editing exercise I did as part of the 2010 UCLA Extension class Directing Actors for the Screen. The exercise was to choose a short scene from a film, cast it with local actors, stage it in the classroom space and direct and edit it. Often students will choose big over the top bombastic scenes like the “You can’t handle the truth!” scene from A Few Good Men. I decided to go the other direction and choose a more subtle scene from the wonderful 2007 dark comedy film The Savages starring Laura Linney and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
